Fill out the form to re-experience the ICMM Centennial Talks, 21 September 2021.
As you recall, we recently made the difficult decision to reschedule the 44th ICMM World Congress in Brussels by one year, till September 2022. This decision was made on behalf of the Organizing Committee and the Professional Congress Organizer Event Masters, in full transparency with the ICMM Secretariat general, to meet with the uncertainties of the unpredictable nature of the covid-19 pandemic and forthcoming travel restrictions.

On this website you will be able to track new information regarding the live congress taking place from 5 - 9 September 2022 in Brussels.
Connected we win
Another challenging year is drawing to its close. Traditionally that is a time to look back and forward. However, obviously, these are not ‘normal’ times or circumstances, but as military professionals do, we get to work. After all, and particularly as Defense Health experts, we also look for opportunities in crises.

Such as using new technology and means of communications to exchange best practice and learning possibilities, from webinars to podcasts. In that respect, I proudly and gratefully look back on the successful and hybrid event, The ICMM Centennial Talks last September. In this way, we reinforced ICMM’s role to connect, and share expertise and experience between over 120 founder and member states.

We will further build on this milestone. So, I am glad to present to you our updated website, where you can find a retrospective look at the Centennial Talks and all information on the upcoming LIVE World Congress next year. In the coming months, we will also be releasing more inspiring podcasts by keynote speakers of next year's 44th ICMM World Congress. I hope you have enjoyed the first podcast, ‘From Rehab to Prehab’ by Dutch Army Colonel prof. dr. Wes Zimmerman, with the next one ‘From shell shock to mental fitness’ by the Belgian Occupational Health and Safety physician prof. dr. Lode Godderis coming up on 15 December.

Next to these digital developments, we are also very much looking forward to the ‘live’ 44th ICMM World Congress in Brussels, from 5-9 September 2022. I would like to invite you to contribute your insights, experiences and questions via the Abstracts page. We welcome all submissions regarding the field of Defense Health, Wellbeing and Healthcare including surgery, pharmacy, logistics, physical and mental fitness and performance enhancement, ethics, history, innovation and technology, military dentistry and veterinary medicine etc. In this way, you will help make this conference a highly interactive learning experience for all of us. arly birds can already register for the event here.

I will get back to you with more news by the end of the year. Meanwhile I hope you are keeping well. There are undoubtedly still some tough times ahead, as many of us are on the front lines in the battle against the treacherous virus.

I wish you all and your loved ones to keep safe. Let us keep motivated and focused, hoping to meet again and enjoy our conference to the fullest next year.

Kind regards,

Brigadier general Erwin Dhondt, Belgium Defense
Congress director of the 44th ICMM World Congress
